Tom--you jerk!!
I cannot believe Tom would believe his "father" over
Elizabeth. He's known his father for what? Two weeks!
And already he's believing his pond scum dad over his girlfriend.
Why would Elizabeth lie anyway?? It makes no sense!

However, as mad as I am at Tom, this WAS a good book. I'll
definitely be reading more.

As for Jessica, I think she was stupid to try to follow up
on something Nick obviously didn't want her to know. I hate
to say it, but Jessica needs a good kick in the butt every now
and then!

Very Exciting!
This book is very exciting! Jessica Wakefield goes on Nick Fox's meet, but still hasn't gotten any real info. Then she and Nick are driving and when Nick spots a car following them, they go on a really exciting chase. Then Nick fights a man with a gun later on, and saves a lot of people. Jessica and Nick fall deeper in love, and it's so romantic. Elizabeth and Tom get closer. Now that they found out that George Conroy is actully Tom's father, Tom has gotten happier. Only Elizabeth hasn't. She can tell that Mr. Conroy is hitting on her- her son's girlfriend! He hits on her a few times, and she is fully disguisted. When she confronts him, she knows for sure he's hitting on her. Meanwhile, Alexandra Rollins is working for a substance abuse hotline, and is answering calls. Celine goes on a dangerous trip to get money. She gets a boyfriend, and uses him as part of her plan. She goes to dangerous areas and meets with very dangerous men that will kill her if she doesn't give them money by Tuesday. But she uses her boyfriend for some other dirty work. Meanwhile, Jessica is still trying to figure out Nick's secret, and comes close and closer and dangerously close! This book is great!

Incredulous BooK!
This book was one of the best stories I have ever read. First of all, it was a page turner with George Conroy hitting on Elzabeth. I thought that was a great story, because you don't know whats going to happen next. And Jessica's new, mysterious boyfriend, Nick Fox keeps making read more and more. It is definetly a good book for teens to read!

The Complete Valley of the Kings: Tombs and Treasures of Egypt's Greatest Pharaohs
Published in Hardcover by Thames & Hudson (January, 2002)
Authors: C. N. Reeves, Richard H. Wilkinson, and Nicholas Reeves
Average review score:

Once again, Reeves et al hit the mark!
This volume is filled with great information. I could not imagine touring the Valley of the Kings without having read a similar book. Full of facts and anecdotes, this is an indispensable reference for amateur Egpytologists. Many scholarly works have been written on the various tombs in the Valley, but those sorts of journals are not easily accessed by the general public. Reeve's book serves as a great index and introduction. Each location is thoroughly but briefly summarized. The illustrations, both photographic and drawn, are well produced. Many books on Ancient Egpyt are much more beautiful (and expensive!), but the information presented here is hard to beat.

excellent coverage of Valley of the Kings
This book gives readers a tour through the history and archaeology of the Valley of the Kings. The authors provide much detailed information about the tombs and treasures of Egypt's greatest pharaohs. Including many illustrations in color and black-and-white, the authors discuss the Egyptian belief in the afterlife, tomb robberies and the discovery of tombs. It also looks at the topography of the Valley's sites, their construction and history. A most excellent source of information for everyone.

The greatest book!
This book tell us the information of each tombs in details. It includes pictures of the outside of the tombs, the inside, the drawing on walls, and sometimes even the bones on the floor when it just discovered. It also includes the map of the tombs, the one who discover it , when it had been discovered and also what's inside. The book explains all these to us in details. I really love this book because nearly all the pictures are printed with colours and the imformation is useful. It also show pictures of the pharaohs' mummies, and so I like this most. I highly recommend this to all those who love ancient egypt and those who are interested in Valley of The Kings.

Deep In The Valley
Published in Mass Market Paperback by Mira Books (September, 1900)
Author: Robyn Carr
Average review score:

A heatfelt book
I would have to agree with a previous review that this story was not truely a romance. Our hero and love interest Jim played a very minor role. The story focuses on June and the people of Grace Valley. However, the lack of romance did not take away from the book. I felt drawn into the town of Grace Valley and it was a wonderful experience. I thought that too many characters would make it hard to keep track of who was who but it did not happen. It made it all the more real. I would recommend this book but not as a romance but as a heart warming story that will touch you and maybe think about moving to a small town like Grace Valley.

Come to Grace Valley for a visit
Deep in the Valley is the story of the townspeople of Grace Valley and also the surrounding area. The main character is June Hudson, the town doctor. June is in her thirties and is beginning to really think about having her own family. Surrounding June is a whole town of friends and family. All of whom know everybody else's business.

Deep in the Valley is written much in the same way as Debbie Macomber novels. There is a whole town of people with real life issues to learn about and keep track of. While there is the main character of June, there is also many secondary characters who get their fair share of space in the book. At times though it seems as if there are too many characters, since it's hard to keep everyone straight. Eventually though the reader prevails and the characters become like family, friends, and neighbors. There are characters to like and dislike.

This book was easy to read, though at times seemed choppy. Again, to compare with a D. Macomber novel which goes easily from scene to scene and character to character, Deep in the Valley seems to at times jerk from one character to the next and also from one storyline to the next. The book seems to lack a smooth trangression at times, making it less enjoyable to read.

Overall, Deep in the Valley is a good book. It's a nice way to spend a few hours meeting new people and learning about their lives. Not a romance, yet still a good read.

Well worth the purchase!
For those of you unfamiliar with Robyn Carr's The House on Olive Street, Deep in the Valley will be a 5 star read. But for the rest of us, we know Carr can do a little bit better, although not much. Deep in the Valley picks us up out of chairs (beds, offices, wherever) and plops us down in Grace Valley, CA, right into the heart of a small town unknowingly on the verge of some major shake-ups. Our tour guide is Dr. June Hudson, who hears her biological clock ticking in between the house calls, phone calls, and emergency calls she gets as the towns only doctor. Enter her "retired" doctor father, her applicant for a second town doctor, the preacher, the office assistant, the eccentric novelist aunt, the gas station owner, the myriad assortment of disfunctional families, the baker... everyone but the candlestick maker, although I'm sure he's mentioned too. This cast of characters may seem too large, but it won't take long for them to grow on you, and seem like members of your own hometown. A delightful read with enough action and humorous antics to set you laughing and maybe even dampen your eyes. Well worth the purchase, and at 5.99 it's a steal compared to some of those other high-priced books!

suspense
A very good book, one of the best, thrilling and exciting! Who poisoned Bruce Patman? Read the book and find out for yourself!

Very exciting, suspenseful, mysterious book
It was a really great book about how Bruce had to find out whopoisoned him. Everyone seemed suspicious and so he had no idea tillhe ran out of everyone else and when there was like an hour left he figured it out. I had no idea it would be the person it was. I recommend that all SVH and SVU fans should read this book. I think it is one of the best super thrillers in the SVU series. All the twists seemed to make pretty much no sense until the end when they all came together perfectly. So everyone, READ THIS BOOK!

Mysteriously Frightening!
This was a creatively written book. The end was VERY unexpected and the suspense was strong. When reading a mystery novel, you must always suspect everyone and everything. Read this book!

Free at Last: The Sudbury Valley School
Published in Paperback by Sudbury Valley School Pr (June, 1995)
Author: Daniel Greenberg
Average review score:

Sudbury Rocks!
As a college professor, I can attest to the fact that our secondary schools (both public and private) are not working. They are producing desensitized, passionless robots whose only ambitions involve participating in the vortex of the class system and increasing the wealth of corporate CEO's. Fortunately, the Sudbury Valley School offers a real alternative to all this madness.

Any serious educator who has the common sense of a slug (and that's about one percent, by the way) will tell you that the educational system as we know it is merely an indoctrination into the values of the ruling class. Much of the work that is forced on teachers is mind-numbing bookkeeping and measuring designed to further the careers of educators (and satisfy administrators) more than anyone else. What is refreshing about Sudbury is that they do away with all that and get down to the business of educating students.

Meaningful learning comes from the individual, and that's what the Sudbury model is all about. I can't recommend this book highly enough.

Revolutionize the way you look at schools and education
This book is written by one of the co-founders of a brave project called the Sudbury Valley School. It provides a look at a true, working, successful, alternative school. The kids and the staff and the parents work together, in true democratic form, to make policy decisions. There is no cirriculum, and yet they all learn to read, and to write, and they keep going in whatever endeavor makes their hearts sing. If you have kids, or are an "educator", read this book, if you want them to grow up happy. It will inspire and move you to make changes for the better!

A great statement of self-education and mutual respect.
This book explains quite a bit about the Sudbury Valley School, it is not about people who want to work at a super market checkout nor is it about people who do not know how to read. This is about a school that essentially lets you unschool. As and unschooler I found it to be interesting and inspiring. This is a book about a school where you essentially can become anything you want to become. Traditional schools are about molding people, this is a school about learning and freedom. While searching for alternative education I actually visited a school that models itself on SVS, however it was a bit of a drive to get there and it was just getting off the ground so I chose to unschool instead.

"There can be no freedom without learning and learning without freedom is always in vain"-JFK

My Personal Favorite of the SVU Thriller Editions
Of all the SVU Thriller Editions that I have read so far, this was definitely one to remember. The plot was gripping and fast-paced and was filled with dramatic irony, although not very difficult to figure out how the book was going to end. Laurie John, as usual did an excellent job of making the reader almost--but not quite--take the side of Gia, Parker's crazed stalker. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a gripping and aslo very entertaining read. This book is quite a page turner.

Very Bad Things
I think this book is one of the best SVU books yet, I love it! It is scary and suspensful and everyone should read it especially all those SVU addiats like me

An Exciting and thrilling story!
This was one the greatest thrillers! I really enjoyed the mystery and surprising ending of the story. It was also great to have Elizabeth liking somebody else ever since Todd. I think the parts where Sam and Liz figh are funny. Jessica and Parker were great, too. This is a must read book!

Take Me on (Svh Senior Year (Sweet Valley High), 11)
Published in Paperback by Random House (09 November, 1999)

Take Me On
Take Me On is a really good book. Basicaaly Conner's life is really messed up. Conner's mom has to go to re-hab for drinking and driving so Conner is stuck with his ex-step father for a month. He doesn't want help from anyone and wishes everyone would leave him alone. Meanwhile, everyone telling Jessica she should give Will a second chance. Take Me On is reallly exciting and has alot of conflict. Angel is also working really hard to get in the RA program. This book was really good, there was never a dull moment! I have read alot of Sweet Valley books, this wasn't the best one but it was deffinitly worth reading!

Book 11 in the SVH Senior Year Series
After brooding in the background for the past several books, Conner McDermott's back in the spotlight in "Take Me On", the eleventh book in the SVH Senior Year series. In the last story ("Broken Angel"), Conner's alcoholic mom was in an accident and received a DWI. Now, as part of her punishment from the judge, she's forced to go to a rehab clinic in Minnesota for one month, leaving Conner and Megan in the care of Gary, Conner's former stepfather and Megan's biological father. That situation has its ups and downs. For starters, Megan's thrilled her father's back in her life after all these years, but Conner doesn't trust him an inch and constantly argues with the guy. But that's Conner's typical charm. He's never one to actually trust or get along with other people.

As for the Wakefield twins and their family, they're moving out of the Fowler's mansion. (Yay! I thought it was a little too weird having the Fowlers and Wakefields living together.) Their house was finally rebuilt after the destructive earthquake that demolished several homes and buildings in the finalized Sweet Valley High series. Jessica is still confused over her feelings for Will Simmons--and occasionally for Jeremy Aames, who seems to have dropped out of the picture entirely. And Liz is still mooning over Conner like a lovesick cow. No change there. (Yawn.)

Meanwhile, Angel Desmond is looking for a way to financially make it at Stanford University. He's applying for a Resident Assistant position there, which is the only way he can attend the college. Besides that bit of pressure, there's the possibility he may have to leave earlier if he is accepted, which puts a strain on his relationship with Tia, who doesn't really want him to go. She's afraid he'll leave her for a college woman, so she considers losing her virginity to him (which, in my opinion, is one of the worst possible reasons to have sex). I was actually very surprised to find out Angel and Tia weren't sexually active; after all, they've been together for months (or is it years? I don't remember.) Anyway, most guys wouldn't last a month or two, let alone a year or more. I guess I had just assumed they were already doing not, but I guess not.

"Take Me On" is one of the many compulsively-readable books in this series. Conner, apparently, has more family skeletons in his closet by the phone call he overhears of Gary's and the legal documents he finds in his mother's bedroom; Jess is falling in love all over again--but with the wrong guy (imo); and Angel is on his way to becoming a Stanford freshman. I can't wait to start the next book in this series: "Bad Girl".

Another great Senior Year
This is the 11th book in the series and although it isn't one of the best, it isn't boring like some of the books can get. This is what is happening.

Conner's mum goes to rehab after drink driving and Conner's stepdad (Megan's dad) Gary comes to look after them. Conner is not thrilled but Megan is. It becomes like a contest for Megan's attention between Gary and Conner. When Megan tells Conner Gary's thinking of moving back to Sweet Valley Conner is suspicious and when he eavesdrops on a conversation he realises Gary has been lying to Megan.
Things are getting hot between Jessica and Will. Jessica is trying to deny her feelings for Will but it's not helping that her mum is charmed by him and Elizabeth is saying she should get together with him.
Tia's wondering if she should take the next step with Angel before he goes to Stanford. When she says that she's ready and Angel says hes not, she gets in a huff with him. Will they sort it out before he goes?

As you can see nothing major happening here, just a fun read. If you like this books you should check out the rest in the series.
Happy Reading :)

Excellent x10
I'm a pretty slow reader at school and around Hong-Kong but I finished this book in an hour. This book is so good you just can't put it down until you're finished. I even skipped lunch to finish it! I recommended all my friends at Peak School to read it as well and they did. They said it was "Awesome" or "It's way more than excellent!" If you haven't read it yet, try it now!! You won't regret it!

Do you want to read about challenge, jealousy and rivalry?
Well, it's in this book! I thought it was a excellent book! Gosh i hate Simone and the way todd acts when he becomes a model and forgets about Liz and not to mention, two - times on her! An excellent book and i reckon i could read it over and over again. That's how great it is!

Working Girl anyone?
Having read the full mini-series I won't give anything away in this review but, I will say that the plot does bear more than a passing reference to the film Working Girl. Jess has a hard time adjusting to the fact that she's not the centre of attention anymore at Flair due to the super skinny and super obnoxious model Simone. Liz, on the other hand, tries a new 'image' and ends up improving herself but only for her ambitions to be shot down by Leona. Todd ends up becoming a model and becomes smitten with super skinny Simone, much to Lizzie's displeasure. Definitely worth reading - SV at it's cattiest!

The Silicon Valley Way: Discover the Secret of America's Fastest Growing Companies
Published in Hardcover by Prima Publishing (February, 1998)
Author: Elton B., Jr. Sherwin
Average review score:

Complete, crisp and actionable start-up planning book
An excellent 'to the point' book for anyone thinking about or doing a start-up. Easy reading, focusing on the important topics, and case studies to review make this book a MUST reference. The topics presented are applicable to all kinds of businesses around the world, not just in silicon valley. I recommend this book in all my software entrepreneur workshops and start-up clients.

Fantastic Insider's View of the Investment Process
...so I was walking into my local bookstore and saw the sign: "See Venture Capitalist Elton Sherwin speak on his new book" and I thought "this guy must not be able to make a living venturing in capital." After listening to him and questioning him for an hour, I realized that Mr Sherwin is a very, very smart man and is very good at what he does (and he HAS done well in the venture business). I bought the book, read it in a day, and gutted my business plan based on his advice. I highly recommend it to any entrepeneur that wants to know what the investors are thinking when they're looking at you from across the table.

Discover the secrets of small business planning!
I read this book a couple of times. I always enjoy reading books by professionals who have front-line knowledge, and Elton Sherwin is in the trenches with some of the leading "hypergrowth" companies. You come away a winner if you only read the appendices!

looking deeper through review
The book is such a light mass and easy to carry, also vivid picture on the cover of book adds to the reasons I favor it.

To be honest, at first, I thought the book is again a love story that we usually watch in the film or somewhere else. On the contrary found it is quite different from other friction stories. The specialty is that the story likes dairy journal, which were written by the characters and in first person. The story sent me a positive impression. It is just the sorts of book I am looking for.

Francine Pascal's writes this book. It focuses on two couples: Domon, Jessica and Lacey, Richard. Let say about the first couple: they are attracted by each other and fall in love. However, Jessica did not felt sweet as she felt Domon kept secret behind her .She was jealous when Demon always stay with Mrs.Serson.In fact, things not like that. Well, Demon is a gay who is not good at expression, along with other reasons causes them nearly to break out. Off course they were getting well consequence .Do want to kown more reason, just read the book.

Well, I like the book, especially Demon, I see he made a lot of efforts to change himself and try to share the ideas and thinking with others. Furthermore, he is really a good gay who I found extinct in this real world. He takes care about his sibling and finish homework in the rest time. All in all, the book is worth to read.

She loves me not? He loves me not?
This has got to be the best book in the series. Its the type that makes you want to skip the whole book and read the last page. This book is not dull at all! Finally after a couple of books Damon and Jessica are once again mentioned. Lacey + Richard Griggs = um..uh-oh? I'm telling you to immedietly go to the nearest bookstore or order it from HERE and READ it. You'll definately LOVE it!

Damon2Jessica! <3
I absoutely Love SVJH! I have bought almost every book so far! She Loves Me..Not! Was so awesome. Jessica finally wants to know more about Damon.Damon starts to work on the literary magazine with Mrs.Serson! And gets jealous of Jessica cause some hott guy is starting to hangover his girlfriend! Damon solves his problem with Ben.And Lacey and Gel out totally OVER! But then.............Richard Griggs starts to think it was because of him!
